The front entrance is protected by a covered drive. A brick paved entrance leads up an incline to a covered drop-off in front of the main entrance. After dropping off guests the driver may continue around the side of the home to the 2 car garage. There is ample parking in the main drive area for at least 8-10 vehicles before anyone would have to consider parking in the street.

Maids Quarters/Apartment

Near the entrance to the garage around the side of the front of the home is the entry to the Maids quarters. For an enterprising Investor this could quickly and easily be converted into a full one bedroom apartment for visitors - a "Guest Apartment" if you will. There is a full bath and plenty of room for a small sitting area and a kitchen. Not only would this enhance the value of the property, it also provides privacy for out of town visitors and for you.

Second Floor

We continue our tour of this exceptional Costa Rica luxury home on the second floor where you will find the kitchen, family breakfast area, TV room, formal living and dining, entertainment areas and of course the pool and rancho.

The kitchen is made for efficiency with broad and beautiful black granite countertops, lots of cherry stained hand-crafted cabinets, subtle gray tile backsplash, high quality stainless steel appliances and a well-placed island between the kitchen and the family breakfast area where you can comfortably seat 8 persons for a hearty brunch. The French Country style curtains compliment the cherry stained wooden cabinets nicely. The walk-in pantry makes for ample storage and for those of us who like to watch the late news, almost unlimited midnight snack possibilities.

Just off the kitchen is the TV room with a black granite topped bar matching the design of the kitchen. The TV room is very inviting, a great place to hang out with friends and visit. French doors open onto a Terrace facing the kidney shaped pool with dolphin fountain.

Continuing on through the home we enter into the formal dining room where 12 can eat comfortably under an oval raised ceiling with hand painted detailing. Diners will enjoy the view to the pool area and rancho then retire to the large formal dining with fireplace.

This is one of the few places in Costa Rica where you can enjoy a fire place. While Costa Rica has a warm year round climate, the higher elevation enjoyed by residents of Villa Real allows for the occasional wood fire during cool evenings primarily during the months of December to say April when it tends to be more breezy in the evenings.

The formal living area opens on to the Terrace where guests may sit on comfortable patio furniture enjoying the sounds of the fountain and perhaps the smell of freshly grilling steaks on the BBQ. A stairway leads you up to the rancho area, which is surrounded by lush tropical plants. The rancho sits above the pool and fountain and has a bar where friends can sit and watch the chef work on the stainless steel BBQ preparing the catch of the day or a nice juicy steak for friends and family on the weekends while they relax to the sound of music or the relaxing fountain.

The location and elevation of homes in Villa Real Costa Rica makes for a truly serene environment and the lush gardens attract a variety of local birds including numerous species of hummingbirds, the Yiguirro, Reina Mielera and Viudas Azules to name but a few.

Third Floor

On the third level you will find four warm and elegant bedrooms, each with it's own balcony overlooking the Central Valley. The balcony view is to the west so be prepared to enjoy an new and amazing sunset each and every evening.

Two of the bedrooms share a bath, the third guest bedroom has a private bath and the Master has a very large master bath with a separate tub and shower unit.

All of the guest bedrooms are large and have good size closets. The quality of the finishes must be seen to be appreciated. One could compare staying in these rooms to staying in a fine 5 star hotel.

Just outside the rooms is a TV room overlooking the pool and Rancho/BBQ area. Open the windows and you will enjoy the sound of the fountains, it makes for a very calm enjoyable atmosphere for reading or relaxing at any time of day or night.

The floors are wood with a beautiful dark finish. This is the only part of the home with wooden flooring and it seems very appropriate being the hideaway where the family gathers in the evening for watching TV and relaxing in pajamas or walking around in slippers. It's a very warm and cozy atmosphere.

The third level may be reached by the marble staircase or by using the uniquely designed wrought iron Birdcage elevator.
